Three Level Island
Scope: 1 phase, same footprint – kitchen and half bath
Problem: Out-dated materials, corner sink, big flat island, felt like “a barge” in the middle of the room.
Solution: Up-dated and simplified island creating, essentially, a large galley but with a 3-level twist. This helped aesthetically and functionally, increasing storage and hiding messes, for the 4 cooks.
Style/Personality: Simple transitional style, Lumicor door inserts of “reeds”, oversized custom pulls, honed granite and polished slate add some surprise elements. The half bath repeated some elements, including the round theme with pulls and a stock mirror.
Accolades: When this was published, it was commented, “While a transitional style and a galley kitchen are certainly nothing new, Rhonda always gives it a unique twist”.
