We have used Rhonda’s creative eye for seven projects at our home in Lake Oswego. Rhonda is very easy to work with. From just a short description of what we wanted Rhonda came up with fantastic ideas. She was always patient with us during stressful remodel times and even after projects were complete was always a phone call away if we had an issue.

We would highly recommend Rhonda Knoche and would use her again.

Project: 7 phases – Kitchen, family room, mudroom, laundry, garage, front exterior, office/den, 3 bathrooms, front exterior, back patio, entire landscaping.

I have hired Rhonda Knoche for three separate projects over a five-year span, two of which were quite complicated and major. I found Rhonda to be creative, a designer who thinks outside the box, and one who is highly sensitive to working within a budget.

One of our projects was a complete kitchen reconfiguration and redesign, which was completed as a first phase. The kitchen, which is a bit “artsy,” is still fresh and beautiful after 10 years of use. People who come to my house for the first time still ask if the kitchen was just done……you’ve got to love something so timeless. Following that, she did a great fireplace design and then a dining room and deck addition, main floor bath and front of our house.

I highly recommend Rhonda. She is professional and passionate and knows her stuff.

Project: 3 phases – Kitchen, nook, living room, bath/laundry, front exterior, dining addition, deck addition.

I worked with Rhonda on my entire first floor remodel; kitchen, dining, living & bath. Rhonda’s experience & imagination, coupled with her listening was a great basis for a wonderful design. This specific project had a requirement that was centered on my copper art work (3 copper sinks, 46 copper hammered cabinet pulls, copper backsplash, etc.) and incorporating it & curves into the overall design. Rhonda was great to work with in ‘playing’ with ideas. Her knowledge of design, materials, color, etc, and relationship with trades people were much valued additions to the project.
When we first started the project, I asked Rhonda that we start with all the great ideas she has had, that ended up on the ‘cutting floor’ with past clients…she understood the question (which brought a smile to her face & gave me a good feeling), which enabled a fun living space. She was generous with ideas, suggestions, insights & her time.

Project: 1 phase – Entire main floor; kitchen, dining, living room, entry, bath, window replacement.

We knew Rhonda was the right fit for us as soon as we met her and knew her experience would help us through such a big project (kitchen/1st floor remodel). My husband and I are very detail oriented so we needed someone to make sure our needs and request were taken care of. She was great at coming up with solutions that matched both of our styles and “wants”, and really helped us think out of the box. Rhonda fought hard to give us exactly what we wanted and helped us stay in target range of our budget. I highly recommend using her services for any type of remodel or new design… we would use her again in a heartbeat.

Project: 1 phase – Entire main floor; kitchen, dining, living room, entry, bath, laundry, windows throughout house

I asked three contractors for ‘bids’ for additions and came back with bids, as requested.  With a different set of questions, Rhonda came back with six different ways to repurpose the existing space while improving four other spaces, as well. She utilized the view, provided a better plan, along with huge savings of dollars and production time.

Project:  1 phase – Entire main floor; kitchen, dining, living room, entry, 2 baths, bedroom, laundry

Rhonda designed an outstanding kitchen for our mid-century ranch. She encouraged us to look beyond current trends and focus on a more enduring and sophisticated design. The project management and attention to problem-solving contributed to a very successful project.

Project: 1 phase – Kitchen, laundry room.

We’d spent years looking at this project with my architect son, assuming we needed to do a kitchen addition to get the space we wanted. Rhonda moved an interior doorway, an incredible spatial change that gave us all we had on our wish list…and more. We were about to spend money we didn’t need to.

Project: 2 phases – Kitchen, family room

Rhonda Knoche provided excellent design expertise, including color suggestions, for our condo clubhouse. The results completely updated its look, which received many kudos for the owners.

Project: 1 phase – Commercial club house

Rhonda has helped me on numerous projects, primarily with space planning for a number of condo and apartment units and a house. She was able to translate my needs/wants into creatively functional and beautiful rooms—always far better than I had imagined. She was professional, knowledgeable, offered different options at different price points (and recommended how to allocate resources). She is superb at space planning and creative design!

Project: 3 phases – different homes, organize, stage, repurpose spaces, minor spruce-up

As I was moving into our new home, I called Rhonda to help me with a very small update project- a very dated kitchen – on a very miserly budget. I had “white appliances” as the concept…. I knew I hated the builder basic oak finish cabinets but again, super tight budget- so painting was her suggestion. “I wanted a happy kitchen- not a dungeon”.

Rhonda’s suggestions were complete w/color chips & photos of similar kitchen concepts, including suggesting appliances to multi-duty in the small space- we worked from a distance over snail mail, e-mail & phone. End result- EXACTLY what I wanted without having a solid vision of what I wanted—- as far as I’m concerned, I’ll fly Rhonda over for the next project I do- she just listened & “got it”! I’ve been enjoying my happy kitchen now for 4 yrs. & still not tired of the colors, finishes & the joy of cooking is back in my life- even in a very basic kitchen, in a very modest home. The forced downsize was a more positive experience BECAUSE of Rhonda’s design insight.

Project: 2 phases – different homes, organize, stage, repurpose spaces, minor spruce-up

When Rhonda worked for a well-known remodeling company in Portland she designed and managed the remodel of the only bathroom in our house. That job went very well (they re-installed the toilet every night!) and came in on budget.

I’d recently seen that Rhonda had started her own design company. Because we were happy with her work previously, I asked her for design help when water damage forced us to renovate half of the master bathroom in our new house. The room had an unhappy mix of materials and colors. I had no idea how to make them play well together since I was only replacing at most half of the room.

We agreed that Rhonda would spend one hour giving us suggestions and guidelines that would help us make decisions. She did just that, and very thoroughly. I was impressed by her knowledge of materials, design, and aging-in-place safety guidelines. She gave us more than one hour on site, then went back to her office and sent photos around to some of her contacts to try to find matching materials, in case we wanted to use them. She followed up with us by email and phone.

Thanks to her help, we were able to choose our materials with confidence and create a pleasing design.

Project: 2 phases – different homes, 2 bathrooms

I had the privilege of working with Rhonda Knoche on a very unique, interesting, and challenging kitchen design. Rhonda and the client had worked for months on the collective theme that culminated into this multi-room beauty!! Rhonda was always available by phone or text so the flow of the kitchen continued without delays. Hats off to the client for the meetal work and to Rhonda for the concept and for making it a reality. I look forward to working with Rhonda again to experience her positive attitude, spectacular designs, and her incredible knowledge that she brings to her clients. Thank you, Rhonda!!

I photographed a job done by Rhonda. She did a remarkable job transforming a simple space with its “back” turned away from a spectacular view to a kitchen and living space that took full advantage of the setting. Not only did entire new vistas open up to the home’s owner, but her unique touches of copper, color, texture and form make the inward view equally spectacular.

Rhonda is an award winning designer that has savvy and clever ideas. Thinking outside the box to come up with a kitchen/bath design that is outside the ordinary – but not out sizing your pocket book! This gal LOVES color – she has been at this for 25 years- so a pro who also knows the pitfalls to avoid.

Candace K., Windermere Realtors – Portland, Or.  (colleague)

Extremely knowledgeable and wonderfully creative designer who actually listens to what the customer wants and gives them more than they could have hoped for. She’s what every designer strives to be! I would have her design any project I needed.
